About this Al Quaa trip
The Al Quaa group tour is the easiest way to experience the UAE's darkest sky. You join a friendly small group for an evening in the desert near Al Ain, where our local astronomy guide sets up a telescope, points out constellations and planets with a laser, and — in Milky Way season — shows you the galactic core arching overhead.
As the sun sets over the dunes we light the bonfire and cook a fresh BBQ dinner. Once it's fully dark, the stars take over. It's relaxed, beginner-friendly and perfect for couples, families and anyone who wants to see the Milky Way near Abu Dhabi without organising the logistics themselves.

How long is the group tour and what time does it start?

Will I see the Milky Way on the group tour?
Between April and September, on clear nights around the new moon, the Milky Way core is visible to the naked eye at Al Quaa. Outside that window you'll still enjoy excellent dark-sky stargazing, planets and constellations through the telescope.
Is the group tour suitable for children and beginners?
Yes. It's relaxed, safe and beginner-friendly, and families with children are welcome. Our guides make the astronomy fun and easy to follow for all ages.
Can you pick me up from Abu Dhabi or Dubai?
Yes, we offer pickup from both Abu Dhabi and Dubai for a fee, or you can self-drive and meet us at the location. Message us on WhatsApp to arrange pickup.
